   Sunbeams Nursery

The learning adventure begins here!

Welcome to Sunbeams Nursery Class, the learning adventure begins here!

Here at Walderslade Primary School, we have a wonderful Nursery facility, which forms part of our Foundation Stage Unit along with Rainbow class.

Sunbeams is run by a wonderful team of one teacher and one teaching assistant. They are always available for a catch up at the beginning and end of each session.

We accept children from the age of three years and provide a flexible approach to providing a pre-school education with hours to suit you. Each child is able to use their free funded sessions and any extra sessions that may be required can then be paid for additionally. To enable us to offer a full day of childcare, we also provide a lunch session for which there is an additional charge.

Our Nursery session times are:

9.00am -12pm Morning Session

11.30am-12.15pm Lunch Session (£4 charge)

Our EYFS team closely assess children’s progress and use a play based approach along with more focused activities to continue to develop children’s learning.

We have various topics running throughout each term and we offer real life hands on learning opportunities for the children where possible. These experiences then enable us to enhance the children’s understanding. We have previously arranged opportunities such as animal visits, visits and demonstrations from the emergency services, cooking, dance workshops, gardening and many more,

The Nursery children have many opportunities to use the school’s various outside learning environments. These include sensory gardens, a story telling garden, a well prepared environment to encourage wild life and insects including a wormery and an ant farm!
